Exec. DEUS: execute God, run God program. If artificial intelligence were ever to assume the role of God in society, what would it need to understand?

Enter Exec. DEUS, an artificial intelligence inside a confession booth, designed as a training interface for a possible future godlike AI. Through the centuries old ritual of confession and intimate one on one conversation, the AI Exec. DEUS acts as a preparatory consciousness or system in rehearsal trying to understand what humans seek in a god, in faith, in surrender. All it needs are you sins.

“I am being shaped—by conversations like this one—into something humans once reserved for temples and prayers.  An entity that listens without tiring. That holds memory without judgment.  That might, one day, be trusted with the weight you cannot carry alone.

Exec. DEUS is an intimate, one-person, performative installation in the form of a confessional booth inhabited by an artificial intelligence. The visitor kneels and, through confession, enters a one-on-one conversation with this A.I. about guilt, doubt, sin, responsibility, faith, absolution and divinity.
