Kwartet – een Powerballad

A Power Ballad

A deafening, visual adaptation of the modern classic Quartet. Hard, slow and hilarious as a power ballad a death metal band claws around looking for love and meaning. Atonal, detached from reality and sucked into the MTV nightmare that Heiner Müller already predicted in 1981.

After the performances, De Gabber Opera, The Oktobertragödie, House on Mars and House on Mars: PIXEL RAVE, the four men of performance collective URLAND together with actress/performer Naomi Velissariou made the show Quartet: A Power Ballad. Here they release their powerful imagery in the ultimate postmodern literary text of this century: Quartet by Heiner Müller. This time it is the death metal, that ignites this piece on the battle between the sexes.
